Soooo, was walking to work last Thursday mornin and did a nice little double take walking past this. Apparently some bored kids in the surrounding neighborhood stole this red beamer, plopped an oil can in the front seat and lit the thing on fire. The care against the graffiti looks pretty amazing and I unfortunately can't take credit for these pics as the camera battery was dead when I attempted to shoot. Anyway, along with the shock of the blown up car we all walked into work thinking it had snowed, when it was really just the white foam from putting out the flames. Pretty interesting stuff. Lara F.
i work next to a pretty cool cement factory and fish market, with the anzac bridge as a backdrop to both.
NOTE: LARA S. IS AFRAID OF HEIGHTS.
So, after searching the job websites here for some time, I found an assitant position at a company that sounded quite perfect. So I have now officially been an employee of Tactic for about three weeks. It is a creative design studio that mainly produces TV Commercials, Promos and Print Ads for the entertainment industry. National Geographic is their main client, which I find great. I also work with lovely people, so many great quirky personalities, which makes my sometimes boring daily tasks bearable. I'm still getting used to working 9-5 and have kept my waitressing job 2 nights a week, so come Saturday morning complete exhaustion generally sets in! Lara F.
These three pics are most likely from april when it was a bit warmer, but are taken from just past Bondi, as part of the same coastal walk that lara and i took last week. Pictures from that are below....
These images are from the approximately 7km walk Lara S. and I took last week, which winds from Bondi to Coogee beach, passing Bronte Beach, Tamarama Beach, and Gordons Bay en route. After passing Bronte we walked through this cemetery set up on the cliffs. Pretty amazing space, though a bit eerie. We lingered a bit reading names and dates off headstones, admiring whose graves had nice gardens or grass growing in their plots. Normal I'm sure. Being the skilled planners we are, we didnt quite expect this walk to take the 2+ hours it did and therefore had to flag a cab home so Schmitt would make it to work on time. OH we are good.
these images are from a nice walk lara and i took around watsons bay (20 min bus
ride north of bondi). after stuffing ourselves with fish and chips we found a cove and naturally plopped ourselves in the most random spot: schmitt sprawled out on a wooden walkway and i on some rocks nearby. we looked quite normal, per usual.
So last night was gay night at Paddo Inn, called fag tag. Our manager let us know last week that we should expect it to be crazy busy as their monthly turnout is about 500 people. I was nearly falling out of my seat begging to work it, I was so excited. 500 well groomed boys to ogle without any threat? Sign me up, yo. So I ended up getting cut early and Lara and her boy and their friends came in and we chilled there for a bit before heading around the corner to sit at Darlo bar on the patio and pretty much just be ridiculous.
This is a cute shot of Lara and Andy. I managed to take a series of hugely unflattering shots of them throughout the evening, but this one worked out. I need to learn to leave the camera to Full where it belongs.... This is Daniel that I work with at Paddington Inn. He just started a few weeks ago and we work a couple shifts a week together. By work together I mean he makes fun of me in between during all our side work that involves lifting anything greater than 5 pounds. I heart working with him, plus he promises that Full and I will have a place to stay with his family if we ever make it to Columbia.Various giggle fits...
I spent about a half hour of the evening trying to form the blood gang sign with my fingers. I have no explanation for that, other than Lara was encouraging me which is generally sufficient to provoke me to embarrass myself.
So yeah.. that about covers it. Just keepin it classy... you know us.... xo. Lara Ssssss
Friday night we had Nga, Nicole, and Nga's roomate Kiara over to get together before Nicole took off for Thailand. I was really excited to go out, as I don't get too many weekend nights off. But after a few bottles of wine no one was motivated to go out except my silly ass. I got dressed up and Lara Fuller wore a hoodie and we ended up at our neighbor Angus's house.
He convinced us that dancing around our apartment would be an acceptable substitute for going out to a bar. Lara Fuller made a playlist that included such gems as Goo Goo Dolls and the Cranberries. WOOOO HOOO dance party. Seriously, Karen should think about lettling Full DJ her wedding. We can listen to the Sophie B Hawkins album start to finish and then maybe REALLY get down with some Flo Rida yeahhhh
Fuller's boy and his friend met up with us and they very nearly convinced me to blow off work in order to hang out with them. Being crafty as I am I instead convinced them to come to my work to keep me company as I slaved behind the bar. Everyone wins!!!!
.....Then I cut them off and threw them out of my bar.
Gotta run. I just washed all of my work shirts and realized that the cycle has resulted in sisteen missed buttons from my uniform. Fabulous.
