Here are a couple of shots of the Val. We just got a memory card for the camera which explains why we didn't take any shots in Rome or Vienna. If we had, it would have been images of us stuffing our faces so nothing lost...
This church in the middle of Vienna (Wien) was very nice, but it was amazingly cold standing here. Val was warm later in his brand new Bear Suit. Apart from the growling he was very calm- a very happy bear actually.
We went out to a nice meal with Pivot Point distributors which was great, the Schnitzel was good- but, well, as a national food specialty... huummm. We actually had better in Rome!
The pic above is Rob and Chris hunting for 'pipis'. Pipis are like clams but a little smaller and they can be found by doing what Australians call " the pipi shuffle' - or basically digging your feet in the sand at the waters edge to find them in buried beneath. fancy stuff! We had them for lunch, steamed with garlic, white wine and coriander.
Here's some more pictures of the beautiful, but treacherous beach. Between the sharks and the rip tide you wouldn't catch me in past my knees... But that, of course, is fine when you are drinking a bottle of rose in your huge beach tent...
These are old, from when we were still in the hospital, but I thought I would post them anyways. cause they're sweet, and for no other reason.
We are nearing 7 weeks now and Val is starting to make cooing noises, he turns his head in the direction of voices, and finally gives the odd smile. Somehow the days are filled though by the end it looks like nothing's been accomplished. Its a fulfilling time nonetheless. I can't account for the hours gone by, I don't even know how to describe whats transpired, but that when I catch myself gazing at Val I'm vaguely aware that I have lost track of the minutes. In these moments I am only aware of how big my heart has stretched and its new and vast capacity for love.
I just couldn't resist more and more and more photos....
We're doing great. Needless to say I'm loving being a mom.
